About the Exam

What is mammography?

Mammography is a specialized X-ray of the breast used to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages. We offer 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), which provides more detailed images than traditional 2D mammograms and reduces false positives.

Key advantages

  • 3D tomosynthesis for clearer images
  • Reduced false positives vs. 2D mammography
  • Walk-in screening available Monday–Friday, 1–4pm
Common Indications

Why your doctor may order a mammogram

  • Annual screening starting at age 40 (or earlier with family history)
  • Evaluation of a palpable lump, breast pain, or nipple discharge
  • Follow-up of a previous abnormal finding
  • High-risk surveillance
Patient Experience
