About the Exam

What is ultrasound?

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of organs and blood flow. There is no radiation, making it especially useful for pregnancy, children, and repeated follow-up exams.

Key advantages

  • No ionizing radiation — safe in pregnancy
  • Real-time imaging of motion and blood flow
  • Painless and well-tolerated by all ages
