How PACS Works

From image capture to physician access — a seamless digital workflow.

01

Imaging Performed

The patient completes their imaging exam at The Radiology Clinic. Images are immediately captured in digital format.

02

Digital Storage

Images are stored securely in the PACS/SYNAPSE system and made available for radiologist interpretation.

03

Radiologist Reads

A board-certified subspecialty radiologist reviews and interprets the study, generating a structured radiology report.

04

Report Distribution

The finalized report is sent to the referring physician — typically within 2–3 working days, or sooner for urgent cases.

05

Remote Image Access

The referring physician can access both the images and report from any internet-connected computer using their secure PACS login.

06

Collaborative Viewing

Multiple providers can view the same images simultaneously, enabling teleconsultation and coordinated care decisions.
