James H. Bankston Jr., M.D.
Dr. Bankston, originally from Alexander City, Alabama, has been with The Radiology Clinic since 2006. He trained at Duke University and UAB before completing fellowship training in MRI with a focus on body and musculoskeletal imaging at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. His expertise includes advanced MRI techniques and musculoskeletal diagnostics.

Jason R. Bearden, M.D.
Dr. Bearden, a native of Selma, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2006. He trained at Washington and Lee University and UAB before completing his fellowship in Neuroradiology at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. His practice encompasses a comprehensive range of radiology services, with a particular emphasis on brain and spine imaging.

Hugh M. Borak, M.D.
Dr. Borak, originally from New York, has called Tuscaloosa home since 2001. He studied medicine at UAB, where he also completed fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology. While experienced across the full range of imaging, his specialty is diagnosing joint, bone, and soft tissue conditions.

David Brandel, M.D.
Dr. Brandel, originally from Arlington Heights, Illinois, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2025. He studied at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago, then completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Michigan. He specializes in musculoskeletal and nuclear radiology, with a focus on sports medicine imaging.

Elizabeth D. Caldwell, M.D.
Dr. Caldwell, originally from Grenada, Mississippi, has made Tuscaloosa her home since 1996. She completed her radiology training at Baylor University Medical Center and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at UAB. She practices a broad range of general radiology, with special expertise in brain and spine imaging.

C. Eric Carruth, M.D.
Dr. Carruth, a native of Tennessee, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2022. He trained at the University of Tennessee, where he also served as Chief Resident, and subsequently completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University. His expertise encompasses a wide range of image-guided procedures, offering minimally invasive treatment options for patients.

Jeremy Ferris, M.D.
Dr. Ferris trained at the University of Mississippi and completed fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Emory University. Board-certified since 2007, he has more than 20 years of experience in diagnostic and interventional radiology, with expertise in breast imaging, oncology, and minimally invasive procedures. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UAB, where he helps train the next generation of radiologists.

Margaret C. Guarisco, M.D.
Dr. Guarisco, originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, has called Tuscaloosa home since 1998. She graduated near the top of her class at LSU Medical School, then completed her residency and fellowship training at UAB. Her specialty is body imaging, with particular expertise in CT, MRI, and ultrasound.

R. Douglas Hamiter, M.D.
Dr. Hamiter, a native of Tuscaloosa, has been serving his community since 2001. He completed his medical training and fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UAB. His clinical focus includes vascular disease and advanced endovascular treatments, as well as the full scope of diagnostic imaging.

Howard C. Holley, M.D.
Dr. Holley, originally from Birmingham, has made Tuscaloosa home since 1988. He trained at Emory University and UAB, completing fellowship work in CT, MRI, and ultrasound. His practice covers general radiology with a special focus on advanced cross-sectional imaging.

Louis W. Lucas, M.D.
Dr. Lucas, a native of West Blocton, Alabama, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2014. He trained at UAB and completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Colorado, gaining expertise in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. His practice spans general radiology with a focus on advanced interventional techniques.

J. Alex Lushington, M.D.
Dr. Lushington, a native of Birmingham, has been caring for patients in Tuscaloosa since 1992. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Alabama before completing his medical training and residency at the University of South Alabama. Board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology, he brings more than three decades of experience in advanced imaging.

Raymond McDermott, M.D.
Dr. McDermott, a native of Tampa, Florida, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2025. He earned his M.D. at Meharry Medical College, completed an internship at Meharry, and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Louisville, then finished a fellowship in Body (Cross-Sectional) Imaging at Johns Hopkins. His practice spans general radiology.

Mathew M. Merritt, M.D.
Dr. Merritt, a native of Fort Lauderdale, has made Tuscaloosa home since 2001. He trained at the University of Arkansas and the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he completed both residency and fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology. His clinical focus includes advanced imaging of bones, joints, and soft tissue injuries.

Russell A. Scholl, M.D.
Dr. Scholl, a native of New Orleans, has been caring for patients in Tuscaloosa since 1989. He studied medicine at LSU and completed fellowship training in Neuroradiology at UAB. His practice encompasses the full range of diagnostic imaging, with a special focus on brain and spine studies.

David R. Shulman, M.D.
Dr. Shulman joined The Radiology Clinic in 2018 after completing his medical training at UAB and residency at Baptist Health System, where he also served as Chief Resident. He went on to complete fellowship training in Neuroradiology at Oregon Health & Science University. His practice spans general radiology with a focus on advanced brain and spine imaging.

Dr. Smith, a native of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2004. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Alabama before earning his medical degree and completing residency and fellowship training in Body Imaging at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. His clinical focus includes advanced CT, MRI, and ultrasound for abdominal and pelvic conditions.

Christopher Jon Sneckenberger, M.D.
Dr. Sneckenberger, a native of Fort Hood, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2005. He completed his medical training at the University of South Alabama and residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at UAB. His expertise encompasses minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, as well as the full range of diagnostic imaging.

Jason H. Stuckey , M.D.
Dr. Stuckey, a native of Opelika, Alabama, joined The Radiology Clinic in 2022. He earned his medical degree and completed residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of South Alabama, followed by fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. His practice includes general radiology with a special focus on advanced molecular and nuclear imaging.
