What is an X-Ray?
Radiography, or x-ray, involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of radiation to produce an image of the internal organs.
There is no special preparation required for general x-ray.
If you have children, please make arrangements for childcare, as there are no childcare facilities on site. Due to radiation exposure, children are not allowed in the examination room.
What to Expect
You may be asked to change into a gown before your examination. You will be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses or any metal objects that could show up on the images.
At least two images will be taken from different angles. There is no discomfort associated with x-ray.
Your referring physician will be provided results within 2-3 working days.
Women should always inform their doctor or x-ray technologist if there is any possibility that they are pregnant.
